  • 4lb Red Onions (Thinly Sliced)
  • 1/2lb Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cups Merlot
  • 1 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup Red Wine Vinegar


1. Over medium heat sweat the Onions in the Butter until they are tender.
2. Add the Merlot, raise the heat to medium/high and continue cooking until it is reduced.
3. Add the Honey and Vinegar and continue cooking on high until all the liquid evaporates and the Onions start to caramelize.
4. Can be prepared and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Serve warm.
