Dan’s Cole Slaw

I have no idea who Dan is but the recipe was originally given to me by my good friend Barb (Epp) Egtvedt.

Dans Cole Slaw

A different kind of Cabbage Salad with a nice tang.


  • 1 Package Cole Slaw Mix (This is equivalent to 1 head of cabbage + carrots etc. )
  • 2 Packages Chicken Flavored Ramon Noodles
  • 1 1/2 cup Slivered Almonds (Toasted)
  • 3/4 cups Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Cider Vinigar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Curry Powder
  • 3/4 teaspoons Cayenne
  • Salt (to taste)


1. Toast the Almonds
2. Mix the Ramon Noodle Spice Packet (not the noodles) with the oil, vinegar, pepper, curry, and cayenne until well blended.
3. Toss the mixture with the cabbage
4. Add the slivered almonds and toss. The recipe can be prepared to this point and refrigerated for several hours.
5. 1/2 hour before serving break up the Ramon Noodles add to the salad and toss.
